I have worked and provided services at all levels of security provision. It has always been my mission and my passion to meet and exceed the expectations of my clients and employers. It is this passion that has driven me to challenge myself to push my levels of excellence to constantly higher levels! Some of the highlights of my career include:
- Being in charge of the security of the separation vote in South Sudan from November 2010 to July 2011, which resulted in the successful separation of South Sudan and the formation of the world's newest country.
- Directing the security for 9 diamond concessions in Brazil, including the recruitment, training and maintenance of a 60-person armed security detail comprised of former Brazilian special operations personnel. This was in response to narco-guerrilas who were attacking the Canadian-owned concessions and kidnapping the corporation's personnel.
- Developing the security department for a US $250 million resort in the Bahamas, including both land and maritime security elements that ranged from casino and hotel security to executive protection and anti-maritime-piracy.
- Providing close protection to a Saudi dignitary when he was visiting Canada for the 2000 World Petroleum Congress
- Proving security training to all contract and volunteer security providers for the 2000 World Petroleum Congress
- Providing close protection to Toronto Mayer Mel Lastman during his re-election campaign during a time when he was under threat.
- Providing security and close protection services for the 2005 Edmonton Grand Prix and 2005 World Master Games
- Providing security consulting and protection services to clients during the 2001 World Championships in Athletics
- Providing an asset protection team for the assets of one of Canada's largest media groups during the 2002 G-8 Summit
- Provided security coordination and protective services for a major political fundraiser attended by the Premier of Ontario, the Federal Minister of Defense, the Federal Minister of Transport, the Federal Minister of International Cooperation, the Mayor of Toronto, and various Members of Parliament
- Developing specialized CQB (Close Quarter Battle) and DT (Defensive Tactics) techniques for the United States Department of Energy Strategic Petroleum Reserve Project. I spent 18 months training tactical officers (Security Police Officer Level 3) in tactical subject matter as well as close protection techniques to protect the U.S. Secretary of Energy
- Being chosen to present at the 2001 Western Canada Use of Force Conference as well as the Defensive Tactics Instructors Conference in Berlin, Germany (2005-2007)
- Working as a high-risk security contractor in Basra, Iraq during times of extreme risk. I was protecting engineers who were re-building the city.
- Directing the security for the 2003 Miss International Canada Pageant
I have also developed a variety of advanced tactical and use-of-force training programs which have been taught to police recruits and police instructors all over the world!
I have also been a presenter at several conferences, including the Edmonton Executives Association, and the Calgary Export Import Association, as well as other associations across Canada.
In addition, I have also served in advisory capacities, and have served as an Advisor to the Criminal Justice Department at Columbia College in Calgary, Alberta.
